WANTAGE – An 18-year-old Sussex County man charged in the stabbing death of an elderly woman has been transferred to a state psychiatric hospital and is under suicide watch, the county sheriff said.
Victor Razumov Jr. of Wantage was transferred under heavy guard to the Ann Klein Forensic Center in West Trenton after he was evaluated at the county jail in Newton, where he had been held since Nov. 20, according to a report in the Star-Ledger of Newark.
“He’ll been evaluated daily at Ann Klein and he’ll remain there until it is determined that he is no longer a threat to himself,” said Sheriff Michael Strada.
Razumov was charged Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012 with first-degree murder in connection with the killing of Virginia “Suzy” Sommer, 73, who lived about a half-mile from him in the Paulinskill Lake section of Wantage, on Nov. 15. He was arrested Nov. 20 on charges of resisting arrest and hindering his apprehension in connection with the killing.
Razumov’s brother, Alexey Razumov, 19, was arrested Monday, Nov. 26 on charges of driving his younger brother to pawn shops in Sussex Borough and Franklin, where they allegedly sold jewelry that was stolen from Sommer’s home after the killing.
Victor Razumov, a student at High Point Regional High School in Wantage, is being held in lieu of $1 million bail. His brother is heing held in the county jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. – Star-Ledger
