Keasbey, N.J. deputy fire chief dies of injuries

Authorities say a New Jersey firefighter has died as a result of injuries suffered while responding to an emergency two months ago.

WOODBRIDGE — Deputy Chief Thomas Kolarick died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015 after responding to an incident on Sept. 17.

The Keasbey Fire Department announced the deputy chief’s death in a Facebook post on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015.

Kolarick was a 41-year veteran firefighter and served numerous roles including fire chief and president, according to fire officials.

The township has announced funeral plans.

A public viewing will be held Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Mitruska Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Mitruska Funeral Home.
