Father, 6-year-old son killed in crash at Middletown-Holmdel border

A father and his 6-year-old son were killed  Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012 in a two-car crash near the Middletown-Holmdel border, authorities said.

Police said the father, George DiCostanzo, 38, of Middletown was driving a blue Subaru with his son and daughter as passengers about 10 a.m. when he collided with a white Jeep Cherokee.

The father died at the scene and his six-year-old son, Christopher, was taken to Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank where he died about an hour later. His four-year-old sister, Pearl, survived.
